Privacy policy

Lukk Boksen · Last updated: October 2026

Lukk Boksen is a Shut the Box dice game. This policy explains what information the app uses and where it goes. In short: single-player data stays on your device, and multiplayer data is stored in a Google Firebase database used only by this app.

Playing without signing in

Single-player games and the 5-round challenge need no account. Your best scores are saved only on your device and are removed if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Signing in with Google

Multiplayer games use Google sign-in. The app receives your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and uses them only to show who you are playing with.

The app does not ask for access to your Google Drive, Gmail or any other Google data.

Where multiplayer games are stored

Multiplayer games are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, a database provided by Google Firebase and run by BJ Bjostad, the developer of Lukk Boksen. A game holds its settings, each player's email address, scores and the dice rolls and tiles of each turn. Only the players in a game can read it. Players you invite are identified by their Google email address.

When a game ends, a summary is saved to each player's own archive in the same database, and the game itself is deleted once everyone has seen the results. Only you can read your archive.

What we don't do

We do not sell or share your information, and the developer only uses the multiplayer data to run the game. The app has no ads, analytics or tracking.

The app and this website download their typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when they load. Sign-in and the multiplayer database are provided by Google (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Those services are covered by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Deleting your data

Use "Delete my data and account" on the Your data screen to remove your multiplayer account, your archive, games you host (for every player) and your place in other players' games. Uninstalling the app removes your saved best scores.

If you can't use the app, see https://lukkboksen.bjostad.dev/delete-account for how to ask for your data to be deleted.

Children

Lukk Boksen is not directed at children under 13.
